A diet doesn’t mean deprivation.
In fact the term “diet” has gotten a really bad reputation over the past few decades.
Technically, a diet is simply an eating plan. Its purpose does not mean to drop excess pounds, and it was never intended to be punitive! However, for lack of a better term, we still talk about “diets” – good or bad. However, there is a reason that sticking to a good eating plan can help you release – and more importantly – keep off excess weight.
Perhaps a few extra pounds crept up slowly over a period of time, or suddenly, after turning say – 30 – when your metabolism starts to shift or after a trauma or life change. Maybe life just got in the way with family, kids, caregiving, working, etc.
Consider that it likely isn’t solely due to eating habits, but exercise has been put on the back burner. Whatever the reason or timing, getting into a new habit of making healthy choices will help you reach your weight and fitness goals. Weight loss and nutrition go hand-in-hand. It’s very important to eat the right foods for your unique body type. There are a lot of diets out there! Many, if not all of the accepted diets are backed by science and will work…for certain people. But there are as many “Right” diets as there are people on the planet. Everyone is different, and what works for me may not work for you, what works for your spouse might not work for you.
If you are looking to lose a few pounds, I will help you set realistic goals, benchmarks and milestones. I will use my training and experience to determine which foods work best with the type of metabolism you have. This does take some trial and error but I can make it fun!
If you are looking to just shape-up and tone-up, we will evaluate your current eating and movement habits to be sure you are optimizing your calorie intake and fat burning abilities, and we will improve up your foundation (or tweak your foundation if necessary) by experiementing with a few fun exercises, eating plans and journaling.
